A blend of experience and community spirit
I am a country girl at heart, and I love the outdoors. I was raised on a family farm near Glen Huron, developing a strong work ethic and a commitment to shared goals. I am a PSW, serving the Barrie and Midland areas. Before entering healthcare, I worked in Toronto's downtown financial district managing trade settlements in the securities department. I bring a strong background in organization and meticulous attention to detail. I am a graduate of the Georgian College Office Administration course, and the PSW course at the Barrie Learning Centre. Beyond my professional life, I cherish Midland's vibrant outdoor lifestyle, enjoying hiking, boating, fishing, various sports, live music, beaches, gardening, and walking my dog. I often wonder what it was like for my ancestors to be here, if they walked the same paths. These experiences connect me deeply with what makes Midland special.

Deep roots in Midland’s history
'Portrait is a pencil drawing of my grandmother Ethel that grew up in Midland and my grandfather Roy.' Artist Dennis Tupy, founder of Blue Mountain Pottery and the grandfather of my sons.
My connection to Midland runs deep. I am a descendant of John Smith and Elizabeth Correll Smith, prominent settlers in 1828 of Lot 106 which includes a big portion of what is now downtown Midland. A veteran of the British forces, they were part of the relocation from Drummond Island. Their grandson, my great grandfather, is William German. He is an acknowledged original founder of the Midland area in 1878. He owned Lots 101 and 102 W 1/2 of Con. 1. This is the area formerly called Evergreen SR to Little Lake and along the old Military Road, roughly around Hwy 12 and 93. My grandmother was also raised in Midland on Ottawa and then on Evergreen SR. The farmhouse was demolished to raise up Evergreen SR to build Hwy 12.
My ancestors helped build and grow Midland, and I share their desire to continue contributing to our town. This heritage fuels my commitment to Midland’s future.

Committed to caring for our community
As a Personal Support Worker (PSW) in Midland, my career is built on a deep commitment to the health, dignity, and well-being of our community members. I understand firsthand the real challenges our residents face—from physical and mental health issues to affordable housing costs, food security, and the need for true community belonging. I am running for Town Councillor because I bring integrity, compassion, and practical, big-picture common sense to local government. I am dedicated to serving Midland with the genuine care and strong advocacy our community deserves.
